Life on the Coast

Want to work in one of the most beautiful parts of New Zealand?  The West Coast offers plenty of exciting weekend activities to suit all - rivers to go boating on, tramps and short walks aplenty, a region rich in history to explore, incredible hunting and fishing opportunities and taking in scenery biking the Wilderness Trail to name a few.  The resilient nature of Coasters transcends the generations, making for a community of hard workers. And they are a friendly bunch, just pop into one of the region’s many cafes for a coffee and a yarn - it won’t be too long before you’ll feel at home. Life is simpler on the West Coast and it is easy to see why people love to live and work here. It’s stretching the truth a bit, but we almost know each other with a population of 33,000.

The team here at West Coast Vets like a good laugh and are an unique close-knit bunch! We have similar interests and hobbies and spend plenty of time with each other out of work, playing with or against each other on the sports field, training for marathons, weekend day walks, arts and crafts, markets, local events, to name a few. On a night out, you can definitely find us on the dance floor and we are certainly not afraid of a bit of karoke!  Bring us baking and you will totally be our best friend forever, however if being in the kitchen isn’t your forte, we also happily accept morning tea in any form of sweet, unhealthy goodness… although gluten free is a must! We all love living on the Coast for it’s unique quirkiness that it offers.
